Tutoring Services Available

Students

To request small group tutoring, students should come to the Returning Adult Services Office in Room SC138. They can request to be matched with a tutor or locate a study group. This free service can be the key to doing well in your classes.

Tutors

Peers are needed to tutor one-on-one and/or to lead study group sessions. Tutors earn $8 per hour for one-on-one tutoring and $9 per hour for group tutoring.

Student Tutoring another student

One-on-one Tutoring

Learners requesting individual tutoring will be matched with a qualified tutor when one is available. The tutor and learners meet on campus for as long as needed during the semester.

Tutor Request Form

To request a tutor, learners must pick up a Tutor Request Form. Each learner requesting a tutor will meet with their instructor and a career/academic counselor. The counselor will review their academic progress and assess their need for other services. Once a learner has requested a tutor, he/she will be contacted by the Tutoring Services Coordinator.

Assistance Labs:

We offer assistance labs for math, writing, basic computer skills, and most science courses. A trained tutor leads group discussions, reviews key material and presents study tips to learners. Group study sessions are scheduled weekly throughout the semester and may be attended by any student enrolled in credit courses.

Instructors:

If you are interested in setting up a regular schedule for your students to study together, led by a paid tutor, please call Mary Schreiner at 498-5693.
