How do I start the GED®/HSED program??

Step 1: Required - TABE Reading and Math GED®/HSED Admission Assessment.

You must be 18 years of age or older. Picture identification is required.

TABE assessments are free of charge and can be taken in the Assessment Center at NWTC-Green Bay, Room SC365 of the Student Center, during the hours below. No appointment is needed. Assessments must be completed 10 minutes before closing. Please allow 2 1/2 hours to finish.

Step 2: Required - GED®/HSED "Success Strategies" orientation session

All students need to register in advance. The four-hour session includes GED®/HSED program information, completion of a Personal Education/Career Plan and a Learning Facility tour.

To register for the orientation session:

After completing the TABE Reading and Math assessment, you will need to register in advance for the GED®/HSED "Success Strategies" orientation by:

1. Register in the Student Center building on Level 2, in the Welcome Center.
2. Call (920) 498-5444 or (800) 422-6382, ext. 5444. Call Monday thru Thursday from 8am to 7pm, Friday from 8am to 5pm, or Saturday from 8am to 11am.

How much will it cost?

The TABE Reading and Math Admission Assessments, "Success Strategies" orientation session, and GED®/HSED preparation courses are FREE.

The basic cost is $20 for each individual test. View the testing fee costs. No refunds will be issued for test fees paid in advance.The same fees are applicable at all test centers.
