NWTC embraces a learner-centered philosophy, where learners
prepare for Fire Service by practicing real life-scenarios in a safe,
monitored environment. We challenge students to exercise their knowledge
and perform their skills in a manner that maintains the highest level
of safety both for themselves and the communities they may ultimately
serve.
We provide a wide range of offerings including:
- Certification-level training through the Wisconsin Technical College
System. The WTCS curriculum is IFSAC certified in FF1 & FF2.
- Refresher training to review performance objectives including Search
and Rescue, Ropes and Knots, and Ladders.
We also challenge firefighters in cutting-edge areas such
as Rapid Intervention, Engine Company Tactics, Truck Company Tactics,
Flammable Liquids, Class A Foam, Incident Command, Haz Mat, Engine Testing,
Ladder Testing, Fire Investigation, Propane Emergencies, Technical Rescue,
and Water Rescue.
NWTC provides training opportunities to ensure firefighters'
compliance with basic and intermediate ICS to begin the Homeland Security
compliance process as well as the standards of NFPA and Comm. 30.
