Northeast Wisconsin Technical College offers a truly unique associate degree program in Fire Protection Engineering Technology at the Marinette campus. Graduates of this program are qualified to be hired in the sprinkler, special hazards and alarm systems fields as designers, installers and service technicians. Your company has likely hired one or more of our graduates in the past.
The on-campus fire protection facilities used by the students are state-of-the-art, with one notable exception. Although the fire protection shop area has multiple sprinkler risers for demonstration and test purposes, the remainder of the classrooms and shops at the Marinette campus are not protected by a fire sprinkler system.
NWTC is committed to providing service learning opportunities to our students. This spring, students have designed the future sprinkler system for NWTC. As a retrofit project, students tore apart ceilings to locate obstructions and learned first hand that architectural prints are not always representative of the actual installed facilities. Now it is time for the students to implement their design.
We are asking that you consider donating some of the needed components in support of this project . Our goal is to raise $10,000 in components or cash contributions. We will also be pursuing various grant opportunities to fund items not donated. To extend this learning opportunity to as many students as possible, installation will be done by students over the next several years.
Too facilitate your tax deductible donation please send a letter of intent to donate specific in-kind items along with a valuation of these items, or your monetary contribution, to:
NWTC Educational Foundation Inc.
P.O. Box 19042
Green Bay, WI 54307-9042
In recognition of your donation a plaque will be established outside the fire protection area. Thank you for your consideration.
