CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class covers line diagrams, relay logic, single-phase and three-phase systems, power and lighting circuits and architectural blueprints.

CLASS OUTCOMES: The student will ........

  • Identify and apply industrial electrical symbols and line diagrams.
  • Explain the operation of and install electromechanical control relays.
  • Explain the operation of and install timing relays.
  • Understand the operation of and install push buttons and control stations.
  • Explain the operation of and install pilot devices.
  • Explain the operation of and install sensing devices.
  • Understand the purpose of building plans and specification for commercial construction projects.
  • Identify general types of lighting used for commercial/industrial locations.
  • Install thin wall conduit using the Benfield bending system.
  • Demonstrate wire pulling skills.
