This class covers AC theory, inductance, capacitance, impedance, series and parallel AC circuits, AC power, power factor correction, rectification of AC, diodes and silicon controlled rectifiers.

CLASS OUTCOMES: The student will.....

• summarize, in written form, the theory of alternating current. calculate resistance, inductive reactance, capacitive reactance and impedance in an AC circuit. correctly demonstrate the use of various testing equipment. distinguish and analyze series and parallel AC circuits.
• summarize the relationship of real, reactive and total power in an AC circuit.
