Students have several options in taking the Early Childhood Education classes: online, accelerated (face to face which includes day, evening and weekend) and blended classes. Applications for the Associate Degree Program are being accepted.

Acceptance into the certificates is automatic, and certificate students can register before the general public. Plus, it’s free to enroll in a certificate, the $30 application fee is waived. Pay for the classes as you take them. The certificates consist of the Early Childhood classes in the Associate Degree without the General Education classes or the Elective credits. Your credits will transfer to the Associate Degree at a later time.

The Registry offers the following Credentials that are recognized throughout the state for the following specialty areas. NWTC offers the coursework for the credentials through our certificates. To receive the Credential from The Registry, you will prepare a portfolio and complete a commission process in addition to completing the certificate courses.

Registry Preschool Credential
Early Childhood Preschool Certificate (15 credits) is designed to provide specialized training for individuals working with children ages three to eight.
Infant Toddler Certificate (12 credits) provides specialized training on caring for infants and toddlers. It can provide an excellent introduction to caring for children or may be considered complementary to a degree already earned such as a bachelor's in Elementary Education.
Child Care Administration Certificate (18 credits) provides specialized training in the administration of child care programs.
