Early Childhood instruction at NWTC

The Early Childhood Education program prepares students for a professional career in early childhood education, including preschool, childcare, and exceptional education settings serving children from birth to age eight. It is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary in the field of child development and early education and care.

Students learn, first hand, about the childcare community and the roles and responsibilities of the Early Childhood Teacher within the classroom. The applied skill development afforded with the Practicum (student teaching) placement provides the student with an intensive and meaningful learning experience, through authentic interactions with children and childcare professionals. Visit the Early Childhood and Instructional Assistant Club web site.
