Casino Management Program Information Page

Program Code 101097

Start date: August or January             Length of Program: Associate Degree – 2 years

 Program Description: The Casino Management program prepares students to operate and manage the dynamics of the gaming industry including direct customer interaction, regulatory compliance, and security/safety/maintenance aspects of both electronic and table games. Specific applications of the ethical, psychological, and socio-cultural impacts associated with gaming as a form of recreation and entertainment will be analyzed.

Program outcomes:

  • Apply management processes and techniques to the gaming industry, including: planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting, controlling and evaluation.
  • Analyze current business practices/issues and their application to the gaming industry.
  • Understand the historical base and contemporary issues in the tribal/gaming laws.
  • Ensure gaming regulations are adhered to, followed, and reported.

Application information:

You may apply to the program in one of three ways:

  • Online – go to my.nwtc. Follow directions for establishing a my.nwtc account and applying for a program.
  • Telephone: Call (800) 422-6982, extension 5444 to be mailed an application packet.
  • Print out an application from our site and mail the completed form to NWTC, P.O. Box 19042, Green Bay, WI 54307-9042

Requirements for Program Entry:  

  • Submit application for the program (see above) along with a $30 application fee.
  • TABE (Entrance Assessment) benchmarks met (Math 8.8, Reading 8.3, and Sentence Structure 7.8. Applicants who have a current score on other approvedEntrance Assessments including, but not limited to Accuplacer, ACT, Compass and SAT will be able to use those score for application to the program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Program Costs:

  • Current cost of a 3-credit online course at NWTC is $324.25.
  • Textbooks may range from $60 to $150. In many cases used textbooks are available at a reduced rate.

Credit Transfer Options:

The core program courses listed above are all available online and must be completed through Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. The remaining courses in the General Studies area as well as Business/Leadership can be taken at your local Community College, Technical College, Junior College or University and then the credits transferred to NWTC, if this is the education plan that works best for you. We also will consider requests to accept for transfer credits already earned at another educational institution.
