What is the fee to attend tech camp?
$35 covers the camp, snacks, lunch and a t-shirt
What if I cannot pay the fee for my child to attend tech camp? Scholarships are available to students either through their regular school or through NWTC to cover registration fee costs.
What is the schedule for tech camp?
Day 1 and 2 meets from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Day 3 starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. due to the picnic celebration.
How old are the students attending camp?
Typically, students are between the ages of 10 and 14 years of age and are entering grades 5-8 in the fall.
What types of camps are available?
NWTC Tech Camps focus on a variety of different careers throughout the summer. Specific career sectionals change each summer so parents and students should read through the registration brochure carefully.
What is the process for signing my student up for tech camp?
To sign up, either pick up a registration booklet from the student’s regular school or NWTC or call Erick at 498-6817for a booklet to be sent through the mail.
How many camps can my child take each summer?
Students are welcome to attend as many Tech Camps as they are interested in.
Is there transportation available?
Busing is available from some school districts to camp locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin. As camp locations change, so do the bus accommodations. The registration booklet outlines which sites and camps have busing available and should be reviewed carefully each summer.
What do the students do during tech camp?
The main focus of Tech Camp is to expose students to a variety of career options so they can begin the process of determining occupations that best match their personalities and interests. In order to accomplish this, students attend 3 different career sectionals during camp. Each day, a 2-½ hour sectional provides a hands on approach to career education. Students get to try out the tools, wear the uniform and create projects related to the career.
