General Studies Division - General College Courses
|
General College courses have been developed to occur within a Thin Layer, between Basic Education and General Education or Program courses. Courses will begin in Summer 2008. Students may apply financial aid to the tuition. These courses cannot be utilized toward program requirements and exist for the purpose of Preparing learners to SUCCEED in college.

Courses currently scheduled:
- 10-831-103 Intro to College Writing-- Introduces basic principles of composition, including organization, development, unity, and coherence in paragraphs and multi-paragraph documents.
- 10-835-105 College Success & Study Skills-- provide learners with strategies to develop skills for success in college and to apply self management techniques, explore resource management strategies, practice study skills, and ways to improve personal effectiveness.
- 10-838-105 Intro to Reading &Study Skills-- provides opportunities to develop study skills and expand reading skills--comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills--and apply skills to academic tasks and to acquire information from a variety of sources.
