Application Procedure
When students apply for financial aid, the earnings and savings
of the student and his or her family is used to determine financial
need. The application process includes several steps:
- Get a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from
a high school counselor or the NWTC Financial Aid Office or fill it out online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
- Complete the FAFSA (or Renewal FAFSA if a continuing student)
submit it to the Federal Student Aid Programs using the envelope
provided in the application packet. Be sure to list "Northeast
WI Technical College, P.O. Box 19042, Green Bay, WI 54307-9042
and the school code 005301" in question # 86.
- Students will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the
Federal Processing Center (not NWTC) within 4 - 6 weeks. Be sure
that the information is correct. If corrections are needed, notify
the Financial Aid Staff.
- Provide all additional information the Financial Aid Staff
requests.
- Based on the financial need and number of credits the student
is taking, the Financial Aid Staff will determine the amount of
aid in grants, work-study, and loans the student can receive. An
award postcard will be sent to each student when the student is
accepted into an eligible program and enrolled for classes. The
postcard will provide information on how to login to my.NWTC to
view and accept the student's aid.
Students must follow this procedure
for each Academic School Year. The Financial Aid Application (FAFSA)
is available in Mid-January for the next school year.
Enrollment status is determined as follows: |

|
- Your enrollment is fixed as of the census date of each semester
or when your financial aid is disbursed for financial aid purposes.
While your award will not be adjusted down if you drop a class
after the census date, the Financial Aid Office will not increase
your financial aid if you enroll in additional credits after the
census date of each semester (September 4, 2007 for fall 2007 and January 24, 2008 for spring 2008).
- Credit by work experience, credit by exam, transfer of credit,
