Q.
What is Self-Paced Learning?
A. A variety of computer classes are offered in the Self-Paced
format at NWTC. This allows students to work at their own
pace on an available computer at home, at their place of
business or in one of NWTC's student-centered labs. Instructors
are available during scheduled hours to assist students and
administer tests.
Q.
What are the benefits of self-paced classes?
A. They offer great flexibility. You can register and begin
anytime before Week 10 of the semester, work at your own
pace, when it is convenient for you, and where it is convenient
for you. You only need to come to the lab to submit assignments
and for the final evaluation.
Q. What self-paced classes
are offered?
Click on the Find A Class button located at the top
of this page for the most current semester
classes.
Q. Are the classes Credit
or Non-Credit?
A. NWTC has Credit & Non-Credit classes in Microcomputer/Keyboarding,
Credit & Non-Credit Classes in General Studies and Credit
& Non-Credit classes in Accounting.
Q. If I finish a class in
a month, do I have to wait until the following semester to
register for another one?
A. When you finish one, you can register and begin another
as long as you enroll before Week 10 of the current semester.
This will allow adequate time to finish your class which
must be completed by the of the semester. Each course takes
about 36 hours to complete. If you work on the class 6 hours
per week, then you should be able to complete it in 6 weeks.
Between Week 10 and 12 of each semester, registration for
the next semester begins and if you register for a next semester
course, you may begin working in the lab in the current semester,
although you will be unable to submit work until the next
semester begins.
Q. How do I register
for Self-Paced classes?
A. Registration
for Self-Paced classes is the same as for other NWTC class.
