Ladder your NWTC learning into a convenient, online bachelor's
degree!
NWTC has joined the Franklin
University Community College Alliance (CCA) program created
by Columbus, Ohio-based Franklin
University. The CCA program offers students
opportunity to further their learning while remaining close
to home or work. The CCA program combines on-campus
classes at NWTC with online classes through Franklin. NWTC
students can begin anytime, in addition to any classes
they are taking at NWTC.
The
right combination of classes leads to a Bachelor of Science
degree in one of these high-demand majors.
- Accounting
- Applied Management
- Business Administration
- Business Forensics
- Computer Science
- Digital Communication
- Financial Management
- Forensic Accounting
- Health Care Management
- Human Resources Management
- Information Technology
- Management
- Management Information Sciences
- Marketing
- Public Safety Management
Students in the program get
support services from both schools, including advising
services, bookstores and library access. For the online
classes, assignments are posted on the Internet and
turned in to professors via e-mail, while class discussions
are held in virtual chat rooms and electronic bulletin
boards.
The CCA program is part of NWTC's Flexible
Learning Options offerings and is in keeping with
the College's philosophy that all learners should be
able to flow seamlessly among learning and working environments
throughout their lives. Just as some working adults want
their continuing education to produce credentials such
as certificates and diplomas, some clearly wish to ladder
their NWTC learning into bachelor's degrees. Adults across
the country have responded enthusiastically
to the easy-to-use program format and the convenience
of working the class requirements into their daily routine.
Franklin classes, like NWTC classes, are eligible for federal
financial aid. Applicants would fill out the FAFSA, just as
though they were applying for one of NWTC's degree or diploma
programs.
Reimbursement may also be available to employees through
the Staff and Organizational Development office. Please consult
Beth Hennes to find
out whether a particular class would be eligible.
Franklin University was established in 1902 and serves more
than 8,500 students annually, and over 1,000 are taking
online courses. Franklin now has over 230 community and technical
college members in 31 states (including the entire Wisconsin
Technical College System.) Interested learners can register
today for 3, 6, 12, and 15 week courses.
