About 1,150 students received degrees and diplomas from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, making 2007-2008 one of the College’s largest May graduating classes ever.
NWTC's main May 2008 Commencement Exercises were held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at the Resch Center.
Each year for the past four years, NWTC’s May graduate classes have broken all previous records, and this year’s class is expected to match or even exceed those totals. (Final numbers are not yet available. May graduation includes candidates who are expected to complete their studies between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2008.)
Last year’s full-year total (July 1, 2006-June 30, 2007) was 2,150 graduates, the largest in NWTC history. That was a 12% increase over 2005-2006, which was an 8% increase from 2004-2005. The 2007-2008 total is expected to match last year's record.
Graduates from all campuses may march in the Green Bay commencement ceremonies. Speakers include:
- Commencement Address: Charles Schrock, President of Wisconsin Public Service Corporation
- District Ambassador Address: Brooke Deviley, 2008 NWTC District Ambassador, May 2008 Graduate of Administrative Assistant Program
