CONSTRUCTION ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICESHIP |
In recent years, there have been constant changes and expansions in electrical science. More than in any other building trade, these technological changes require increased knowledge and ability for construction electricians in order to meet the demands of change.
A construction electrician: lays out, assembles, installs and tests electrical fixtures, control equipment and wiring used in the alarm, communication, light and power systems. |

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPRENTICESHIP:
Education: High school graduates or GED® (submit copy)
Age: 18 or high school graduate at 17, no maximum
Industry Test
License: Valid driver's license (submit copy)
Application: Numbered application form for electrical industry |
LENGTH OF CONTRACT
Construction Electrician
- 5 Years of not less than 8000 OJT hours as per Exhibit "A"
- 720 Paid Related Instruction, (Day School) with additional night school classes as determined by the Committee
Residential Electrician
- 3 Years of not less than 4800 OJT as per Exhibit "A"
- 432 Hours of Paid Related Instruction, (Day School) with additional night school classes as determined by the Committee
Voice - Data - Video
- 3 Years of not less than 4800 Hours of OJT as per Exhibit "A"
- 432 Hours of Paid Related Instruction (Day School) with additional night school classes as determined by the Committee
All night school programs require an 80% attendance, and several require a final test for credit. Night school classes will be assigned by the respective JAC.
