General Orientation
Orientations are held at specific times throughout the year
for students who have been accepted into a NWTC program.NWTC has an online orientation which is not a substitute for coming to campus.
- College folders are provided at the orientation that includes
such information as Student Handbook, College Catalog, financial
Aid Information. Non-program students may have some of this
information mailed by requesting it from Student Services
at 498-6861.
- The Orientation provides new Program Students with an opportunity
to ask those questions they have about the program of choice
or NWTC in general. Student
Services staff will also review with you some of the other
information that will help your time at NWTC to be more productive.
Topics such as Credit
for Prior Learning will be discussed.
- You will be given information about way finding around our Green Bay campus. Tours
are also available and may be scheduled by contacting our
Tour Coordinator
at 920-498-5422 or online.
- You will find out that NWTC has Math
and Communication Lab staffs who are eager to provide
you with the assistance you want, even on a one-time basis,
free of charge. Or, if you want a tutor, we'll tell you how
you can have a tutor assigned, also free of charge.
- A representative of our counseling
center will share information with you on the services
and the hours the counseling staff is available to meet with
you. Counselors may be contacted for issues such as your program
status, class selection, Credit for Prior Learning and any
other matter you might wish to discuss.
- Specific information about Credit for Prior Learning is shared
at an Orientation. Your specific questions can be answered
about credit you may have earned at another college or university.
Find out how some previous
learning experience may earn you credit.
- Also, NWTC has written agreements with many of our district
high schools that will earn you credit for both high school
and college.
- The Financial Aid and Foundation representatives will give you information that
will help you in defraying the costs associated with your
education. It's never too late to apply for financial aid.
And, NWTC's Foundation has scholarship opportunities.
- Our Registrations staff will provide pointers on making the registration process
easier for you. You'll find out about the types of classes
you may register for and methods available to you for registering
for your classes. Payment
information will be provided as well.
