General Orientation

Orientations are held at specific times throughout the year for students who have been accepted into a NWTC program.NWTC has an online orientation which is not a substitute for coming to campus.

  • College folders are provided at the orientation that includes such information as Student Handbook, College Catalog, financial Aid Information. Non-program students may have some of this information mailed by requesting it from Student Services at 498-6861.
  • The Orientation provides new Program Students with an opportunity to ask those questions they have about the program of choice or NWTC in general. Student Services staff will also review with you some of the other information that will help your time at NWTC to be more productive. Topics such as Credit for Prior Learning will be discussed.
  • You will be given information about way finding around our Green Bay campus. Tours are also available and may be scheduled by contacting our Tour Coordinator at 920-498-5422 or online.
  • You will find out that NWTC has Math and Communication Lab staffs who are eager to provide you with the assistance you want, even on a one-time basis, free of charge. Or, if you want a tutor, we'll tell you how you can have a tutor assigned, also free of charge.
  • A representative of our counseling center will share information with you on the services and the hours the counseling staff is available to meet with you. Counselors may be contacted for issues such as your program status, class selection, Credit for Prior Learning and any other matter you might wish to discuss.
  • Specific information about Credit for Prior Learning is shared at an Orientation. Your specific questions can be answered about credit you may have earned at another college or university. Find out how some previous learning experience may earn you credit.
  • Also, NWTC has written agreements with many of our district high schools that will earn you credit for both high school and college.
  • The Financial Aid and Foundation representatives will give you information that will help you in defraying the costs associated with your education. It's never too late to apply for financial aid. And, NWTC's Foundation has scholarship opportunities.
  • Our Registrations staff will provide pointers on making the registration process easier for you. You'll find out about the types of classes you may register for and methods available to you for registering for your classes. Payment information will be provided as well.
