Snow-closing policy - Campus closings
The decision to close the campus is made about 6am - please listen to your radio after that time to hear about closings!
Green Bay Campus
If NWTC is going to close due to snow, we will announce a
Green Bay campus closing by 6:00 a.m. for day activities and
by 3:00 p.m. for evening activities.
It
is our general philosophy that we are providing education
for work. We are tied to the policies of the general business
community. Like our business partners, we will strive to remain
open to serve our customers. Therefore, it is unlikely that
we will close the Green Bay campus.
Circumstances
that might cause us to close would be the inability to clear
our parking lots and/or Green Bay Transit System is not operating.
NWTC campus closings will not be linked to the K-12 system
closings.
If the weather
is threatening and campus stays open, the choice to report
for class or work is ultimately up to the student or staff
member. Every effort will be made to help the student make
up educational experiences lost due to severe weather conditions.
Staff members
who choose not to report to work should review available leave
options with their supervisor when they return to work.
Special service
for parents: K-12 school closings will be posted on television
monitors for the benefit of students and staff who have children
in elementary, middle and high school. As a service to our
students, K-12 school closings in the metro Green Bay area
will be announced.
